ITC Lights Up the New Clock at Hope College

The new Jack H. Miller Center for Music at Hope College in Holland, MI will have a Howard Miller clock lit by elio’s Luna LED light. ITC’s elio group has been working with our neighbor, the Howard Miller Clock Company for the past several months in anticipation of the installation of this beautiful clock. The lit clock is positioned high on a striking wood paneled wall that is very visible through the tall expanse of exterior glass windows, providing a recognizable icon for the new musical arts center.
Howard C. Miller, the founder of the Howard Miller Clock Company, built the company on incomparable workmanship, unsurpassed quality, and a quest for perfection. ITC and Howard Miller share the local West Michigan work ethic and the value of providing quality solutions to our customers, so we are proud to have been selected, based on these attributes, to light up this important part of the Jack H. Miller Center.

The Center was made possible by Howard’s son Jack, through his major gift to Hope College, which included funds for construction and future maintenance.

ITC, through our elio brand works with architects and designers on custom projects, such as the LED lit Howard Miller clock, as well as several other industry customers with our extensive standard product offerings.

ITC Lights Up New Industries with LEDs

Mike_in_GR_Press After 30 years of designing and manufacturing lighting for boats and RVs, ITC Inc. is lighting up retail stores, offices, homes, health facilities and cruise ships.

The company’s new LED lighting division called Elio is producing products for Carnival and Princess cruise lines, which are replacing hundreds of thousands of energy-eating incandescent light fixtures with low-watt, high intensity LED lighting fixtures.

“The math for them was simple,” ITC founder and CEO Dick Camarota said. “Replace 35 watt bulbs that require frequent replacement with 9 watt LED lights that use a one-third of the energy and last two-thirds longer, and there is huge savings for every ship in their fleet,” he said, noting electricity at sea is generated from fuel powered generators.

Herman Miller Lights Receive Excellence Awards

hermanmiller_logo Congratulations to our customer Herman Miller on their recent award for LED lighting products. Below is the recent article recognizing Herman Miller in the Holland Sentinel.

Herman Miller Inc.’s Ardea light has earned both Gold and Silver honors from the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), while the Twist LED task light earned dual Bronze awards. The products and their awards across multiple categories secured a place for Herman Miller among the top corporate winners for 2010 and also for the past five years.

2010 marks the 30th year of the annual competition, which recognizes design excellence in products, eco design, research, strategy, packaging, interactive design and concepts.

Herman Miller’s Ardea and Twist lights were selected among 1,900 product entries from 29 countries. Ardea took top honors in the Eco design and Home Living categories. The Twist LED task light won recognition both in the Eco design and Office & Productivity categories.

Elio Receives Honorable Mention in Nightingale Awards at Healthcare Design Conference

Elio LED Lighting, a division of ITC Incorporated, received an honorable mention for this year’s Nightingale Awards at the 2010 Healthcare Design Conference in Las Vegas for their innovative Illuminated Safety Handle. This year’s judges bestowed the award, citing the product as “a great start to an innovative and needed solution in the market.” The Illuminated Safety Handle was designed by ITC’s enterprising engineers to provide a resourceful solution to a needed area in the healthcare industry.

Designed with LEDs to initiate long product life & low energy consumption, the handle aids as an illuminated target in wayfinding and support for medical applications. With watertight construction, the handle can be used in varying applications throughout a healthcare facility providing functionality, safety, and lighting.
